What a Beautiful Day in ChiChi

There is no rain today just sunshine and a small breeze. Phillip has spent the morning with the staff and it was a wonderful time together. The men have started laying the concrete and doing a great job. Frank is building a cabinet and wardrobe for the S.I.P. (Student Intern Program) house where Mary Jane and Suki will reside as they launch the program. The rest of the team are painting furniture for the SIP house and other projects to set up house. I am going to post this blog and then add pictures. Sorry for the delay in posts but it is satellite hookup for Internet and the clouds etc have made it hard if not impossible to get a connection at the hotel.

Blessings and thanks for the prayers they are working.

It is 4:45pm and we have just returned to our hotel. Let us catch up on our journey. We left the Church at 3:30am and arrived at our hotel in ChiChi at 9:30 central time. To say we rested well after a quick meal would be an understatement. We joined the local missionaries for an English service. Pastor Phillip gave the sermon and seemed to be well received. After services we went to town for their market day. As we walked from the Hotel and experienced the rain first hand. We made a quick stop at the only grocery store in town and many bought unbrellas. With it reaining we went to a local resturant and had lunch. Pizza was the meal of choice! Some did a little quick shopping before returning to the hotel. We left at 4:30 to go to a local service. It was in spanish. The people worshiped the Lord for an hour and then Pastor Phillip shared a message that was well received. The entire team prayer for the congregation as the individual came forward for prayer. It ended with everyone felling like God had been present. After Service we returned to the Hotel "Casa Del Ray" House of the King for a late diner followed with fellowship and a night of wonderful rest.
Today we went to ASELSI for a work and ministry day! Some of the team worked on helping Suki and Mary Jane prepare the intern house. Some worked on preparing the area to pour a concrete floor for the pavilion that lunch is feed to people under on the compound at ASELSI. Late in the afternoon we divided into 3 groups and took food and toys etc to 3 families. The largest home had 2 room. Can you imagine 9 people in 2 8x8 rooms? Kitchen and all! He did some great things on those visits and we can
We are back at the hotel for diner and some rest. Thanks for all your prayers!

At 3:00 am Saturday morning, the Guatemala Mission Team 08 departed from WOC’s Leadership Park in route to Nashville International for their flight through Miami to Guatemala City, Guatemala. This 11-person, 1-alligator (our own Gozer!) team began their journey in full anticipation of all the amazing things God will do in World Outreach Church’s continued work with ASELSI Ministries in Chichicastenago, Guatemala.

They carried in tow 12 duffel bags full of treasures for the Quiché Indian peoples to whom they will minister over the next nine days. WOC Small Groups contributed the lion’s share of toys, candy, coloring books & crayons, bubbles, and hospital necessities, all of which will be expressions the Lord’s love and compassion to hundreds. A local company generously donated new tools which will help our team construct new roofing on dwellings and complete several other major work projects. In addition, almost 200 Derek Prince books will be placed into the hands of present and future pastors-in-training - what a privilege.

Stay posted daily for updates from our team. Parents, be sure to help your kids check out Gozer’s Blog! He is so excited about his second trip to a country he has learned to love like home!

We made it to the airport in Nashville inspite of the weather. Matt Brand was so good to get up and be at the church at 2:30 am to take us. We were over loaded with bags. We even paid to take and extra bag so we didn't leave anything behind. We had been asked to take paintball pellets for some of the missionary kids. They were liquid and we weren't supposed to get them through. I started to divide them up into 11 zip lock bags and the head security guy let us take them as they were. God is good and we have some stories to tell of how God is watching over us but will do that when I am not standing at a checkin counter to use the power. The pictures are at 5:oo am at the Nashville airport. We were the first in line at the new Starbuck that has opened up on the concourse. Our last chance to taste civilization. Please pray for Frank's back. He has mucsle tightness and is very uncomforatable. It happen this morning as we was getting ready. We will keep you posted. Gozer is having a great time so look at his blog as well. Our flight out of Miami says it on time and we are trusting it is. We will try to post again once we finally arrive in ChiChi.
